My goal as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to offer professional care on a personal level to clients in Colorado Springs and Woodland Park. My focus is on working with individuals, families and couples from all walks of life that are open to learning and growing. If you are struggling with shame or frustrated that things seem to be beyond your control, then I would like to help you discover what can help you find freedom. Whether the barrier is depression, anxiety, addiction, sexual issues in your relationship, or establishing healthy boundaries, there is hope and freedom. I have extensive post-graduate training for counseling sexual disorders, trauma, and abuse. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, and individuals and their families recovering from alcohol and drug addiction, as well as sex addictions. I am also a CCE Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). Contact me for more information on supervision. I believe that change is possible and that living as your true self is better than pretending to be someone you are not. We were made to be known, to connect, and to be free. I am passionate about creating a safe place for you to tell your story while we explore what is getting in the way of you living life to the fullest.

In my therapeutic work, I endeavor to create an environment that allows my clients to center-out, to breathe, to explore, to undertake, to dare, to dream, to change course, and to reconnect. As a would-be-adventurer with a penchant for curiosities and the unknown, I look forward to embarking on uncharted paths with my clients. In journeying alongside my client, my hope is that upon reaching the trailhead of their path, they're able to look around and exclaim "everything is in its right place." View 4 Photos My clinical focuses included matters related to adoption/fostering ("adoption triad"), matters related to grief & loss, compassion-fatigue (i.e., burnout, secondary trauma), and general impasse. Additionally, equine-assisted psychotherapy is an approach of particular interest and one I am happy to be able to offer.

In the past three years, I have worked as a counselor to both children and to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate I use modalities, such as HearthMath, Brainspotting and Trauma Focused-CBT, that help to reduce anxiety, depression, and aids them in finding strength within themselves. View 4 Photos I use Brainspotting to help clients process their traumas and any issues that may be causing them distress in their lives. By using this modality, clients will be able to learn how to emotionally regulate themselves in times of stress and uncertainty, and it allows them to gain access to the deeper parts of the primitive brain where deep process occurs. I use play, sand tray, and art therapies to help children learn positive coping strategies that teach them how to manage problems with anxiety, depression, and traumas that they may have in order to give them a better start at their futures.
